Where Are They Now: Aaron Hoff

Meet Aaron Hoff, proud Oneida City School District alumnus from the Class of 2003!
During his time at OHS, Aaron was a dedicated student-athlete, playing soccer, volleyball, and baseball. His fondest memories come from the volleyball court—winning back-to-back sectional and regional championships and capping off his senior year with an undefeated 21–0 season.
Aaron’s interest in engineering began at Oneida High School through the Project Lead The Way program, where he was introduced to engineering and pre-engineering courses that sparked his career path. He went on to earn his AAS in Mechanical Engineering Technology from SUNY Canton, followed by a BS in Mechanical Engineering Technology from RIT.
Originally considering a career as a machinist, Aaron decided to pursue engineering to open broader opportunities. Through internships with Bosch, Remington, and the Town of Henrietta, he gained valuable hands-on experience in new product development and CAD design—skills that helped define his professional journey.
Since graduating from RIT in 2008, Aaron has built an impressive career with Toyota Motor North America, working across four key areas of new vehicle development: assembly plant equipment installations, new part and process development, metrology evaluation, and full vehicle tooling design.
Beyond the workplace, Aaron’s passion for engineering and motorsports has emerged through Toyota’s employee racing team, where he has competed as both a driver and pit crew member.
His career has taken him to Kentucky, Indiana, and Ontario, Canada, and on projects spanning Japan, Canada, and across the U.S. Aaron is grateful to have found a career that combines his love for hands-on engineering, travel, and lifelong learning.
To future graduates, Aaron offers this advice: "You may not know exactly what you want to do when you leave high school, and that’s perfectly normal. What worked for me was finding something that interested me and chasing experiences that kept me learning and growing. Over time, that interest turned into a career. When you find work that connects with your interests, it doesn’t feel like you’re just punching the clock—it feels like something you enjoy doing, and you just happen to get paid for it."
We’re proud to celebrate Aaron Hoff and the path he’s forged—proof that the foundation built at Oneida CSD can lead to incredible opportunities!
