Mark Barbano

Mark Barbano, of Oneida, is serving his first five-year term on the Board of Education.  He is a 65-year district resident. Mark is a graduate of SUNY Cortland with a B.S. degree in Economics. He also did graduate coursework at the former SUNY IT in Utica. He worked 36 years for the New York State Department of Labor as one of only 10 Regional Economists in the Department. Mark was a 20-year member of the Advisory Board for Occupational Education for the Oneida-Herkimer-Madison BOCES.

Mark and his wife, Robyn, are both graduates of Oneida High School. They have four sons who are also graduates of Oneida High School.


Heather Denby
Term July 1, 2024 - June 30, 2029

Heather Denby, of Oneida, is serving her second five-year term on the Board of Education and is currently the Board’s Vice-President.  Heather graduated from Oneida and attended Seneca Street Elementary School.  A 33-year district resident, Heather graduated from Saint Bonaventure University with a B.A. in Spanish and Psychology and a Philosophy/Pre-Law minor.  Heather attended the Middlebury College Spanish Immersion Program, and she earned her Juris Doctor from SUNY Buffalo Law School.  Heather currently practices in Oneida as a matrimonial/family law attorney, and is the Vice-President of the Madison County Bar Association.

Heather and her husband, Derek, have two children enrolled in the Oneida City School District.  


Nadine Flynn

Nadine Flynn, of Oneida, is serving her first five-year term on the Board of Education.  She is a graduate of Oneida High School and lived in Oneida for 20 years before moving to Syracuse. Nadine recently moved back to the area 4 years ago with her family.  She graduated from Syracuse University with a bachelor's degree in social work. Nadine is also employed at Syracuse University.

Nadine and her husband, Mark, have five children with two of them currently enrolled in the district.


Martin Kelly
Term July 1, 2023 - June 30, 2028

Martin Kelly, of Oneida, is serving his third five-year term on the Board of Education. He is presently the Board's President. Martin and his wife Megan have lived in Oneida for two decades.  He is a graduate of Le Moyne College with a B.A. in History.  He also earned his M.S. Ed and later completed his teaching certification at Le Moyne College.  Martin is currently working as a teacher in the Cazenovia School District and his wife is a member of the faculty here in Oneida.  Martin is the proud father of two Oneida high school students.  He enjoys attending their varsity games, band and choir concerts, and amazing drama productions.  Martin values the educational opportunities that the Oneida City School District provides for his children and the children of his friends and neighbors.  He believes our children have been challenged, inspired, and cared for and is grateful to our district.

 


Mark Putnam

Mark Putnam, of Oneida, is serving his first five-year term on the Board of Education. He is an experienced educator with over 14 years as an Elementary Principal and previously served as a 4th grade teacher in the Whitesboro Central School District. Mark is currently the Principal at Sauquoit Valley Elementary School. Education has always been his passion. He brings a deep understanding of both classroom and administrative perspectives, as well as his investment as a parent to his current and future students of the District. Mark and his family moved to Oneida a short time ago. They have truly grown to love and appreciate this vibrant, welcoming community.  Mark believes in thoughtful, student-centered decision-making and is committed to fostering strong partnerships between schools and the community. He is honored to serve and help ensure the continued growth and success of the district.

 

Matthew Woodcock

Matthew Woodcock, of Durhamville, is serving his first five-year term on the Board of Education.  He is a lifelong resident of Oneida, graduating from Oneida High School in 2007.  Matthew and his wife Jill have built their lives here while raising their four children, all of whom attend schools within the district.  They are the owners of Old Erie Golf Club in Durhamville where they have worked to create not only a successful local business, but also a place that gives back to the community.  The think that Matthew is most proud of is being able to use both his time and resources to support local organizations, youth programs, and community initiatives throughout the area.  He cares deeply about the future of Oneida and its students.  Matthew is honored for the opportunity to serve on the Bord of Education and looks forward to working together to continue building a strong future for our students, families, and community.

 

Stephanie Waite
Term July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2031

Stephanie is currently serving her first five-year term on the Board of Education.  She is a lifelong resident of the Oneida City School District. graduating from Oneida High School in 2004.  Stephanie continued her education at LeMoyne College where she received a B.A. in Psychology.  She has worked at Madison County Department of Social Services for the past 15 years, serving in her most recent role in the Child & Family Services Unit.  This role has allowed Stephanie to work collaboratively with children, families, school staff, and service providers to ensure safety, stability, and positive outcomes for members of this community.  Stephanie’s commitment to public service brings a deep sense of responsibility to our students, families, and educators.  This requires making informed decisions that prioritize our students’ success, supporting our teachers, and reflecting the values of Oneida.  As a parent of two children currently enrolled in this district, she is committed to every child’s success.
