Welcome to Oneida City School District Student Registration!

To register a student, they must meet the age, residency, and public health requirements as outlined by New York State Law.

Important Notes

  • If your child attended the Oneida City School District Pre-K program last year, you do NOT need to re-register them for kindergarten. They are automatically enrolled for the upcoming school year.

  • Families experiencing housing instability or living at a temporary address may still register under the McKinney-Vento ActMcKinney-Vento Homeless Education

  • Under the McKinney-Vento Act, “homeless children and youth” are individuals who lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence. Oneida City School District welcomes and supports students identified as homeless in accordance with federal and state regulations.

  • Registration is not considered complete until all required documentation is submitted. Exception: This requirement does not apply to students identified as homeless under the McKinney-Vento Act.

  • What Happens After I Register?

Once your child’s registration paperwork is complete, the Registration Office will notify the appropriate school building.

The school will then contact you with your child’s start date, bus transportation information, and teacher assignment or class schedule, and can answer any questions before your child begins.

Please note: school buildings are notified only after registration is complete, except for students identified as homeless under the McKinney-Vento Act.

Please remember that there are three required registration forms that must be completed. These forms can be completed during your appointment or provided to you by the Registrar.

This allows the district to update enrollment information, confirm contact information, and ensure that any required documents and forms are current.

This requirement does not apply to families experiencing homelessness. Please contact the Registrar’s Office if you have questions about residency requirements or the documentation needed to complete registration.

Parent Portal

Oneida City School District uses Schooltool as its Student Data Management System. The district will be providing parents and legal guardians of students in grades 4-12 access to information in Schooltool through the Parent Portal as a way of encouraging participation in a child’s education and improving communication between students, parents/guardians, and District Staff.
