WP Students Love Books!

We love seeing our Willard Prior students’ faces light up when they get lost in a good story! Watching their imaginations at work is one of the best parts of learning to read.
Our WP students were enjoying a favorite: The Grumpy Monkey by author Suzanne Lang! Through this story, students can explore feelings, learn that it’s OK to have a bad day, and recognize that we don’t always have to pretend to be happy.
Reading and listening to stories both play an important role in literacy development. They help children build vocabulary, strengthen listening and comprehension skills, spark curiosity, and make connections to the world around them.
Whether they’re turning the pages themselves or listening to a story read aloud, there’s so much learning happening with every book!
