Winter Play the Safe Way

Winter Play the Safe Way
Winter weather brings plenty of fun opportunities to play in the snow, but staying safe is always the top priority. The Oneida City School District would like to remind students to stay away from snow banks and large snow piles when playing outdoors.
Snow banks may look fun to climb on or dig into, but they can be extremely dangerous. These piles can shift or collapse without warning, leading to serious injury. They may also hide hard ice, debris, or sharp objects, and are often located near roadways and parking lots, where visibility for drivers is limited.
- Play only in open, designated areas
- Always listen to adults on duty
- Dress warmly and wear proper winter gear
- Do NOT climb, stand on, or dig into snow banks
By making safe choices, we can all enjoy winter weather while keeping everyone protected. Thank you for helping us keep our students safe!
