Special Capital Project Vote – November 12, 2025

The Oneida City School District will hold a Special Capital Project Vote on Tuesday, November 12, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Voters will be asked to consider Proposition 1, a bond resolution to fund important improvements across all district facilities, including LED lighting upgrades, HVAC system updates, and energy efficiency projects, at a total estimated cost of $3,000,000.

Quick Facts: No Cost to Taxpayers


$3 Million Project – Fully funded with NYS Building Aid and guaranteed energy savings.
No Tax Impact – The project will not increase school taxes.
Smart Investment – $2.61M in Building Aid + $390,000 in energy savings and incentives = project pays for itself. The district will keep saving money even after the project is paid off.
Energy Efficient Upgrades – LED lighting, upgraded heating/cooling, weatherization, and natural gas conversion.
Modern, Reliable Systems – Replacing outdated equipment for safer, more efficient schools.

Oneida HS Students Begin Colgate Seminars

Oneida High School students had their first class as part of the Colgate Seminar, a unique program designed to give students an insight into the college experience at Colgate University. This initiative allows high school students to explore various college-level courses and engage with the intellectual environment of a university.

Our school is proud to be one of 15 area schools participating in this enriching program, which not only enhances academic understanding but also helps students develop crucial skills for their future educational paths.

According to Colgate's website, the mission of the High School Seminar Program is "to use Colgate’s resources to benefit the region by introducing area high school students to college-level topics that are not available at their schools and to encourage college attendance by providing them with the opportunity to experience a taste of life on a college campus."
