Welcome to MVCC Music Appreciation

This course is designed to utilize technology while exploring the Basic Elements of Music (Melody, Harmony, Rhythm, Form, Timbre, and Style), Vocabulary, and the various time periods in Music History (including Gregorian Chant-Current styles). We also research and discuss Current Events in Music.
This is a HANDS-ON class, where the expectation is that students will listen, create/compose with music software, perform, write, record, complete projects (research based, class presentations, powerpoint), and use the internet for assignments and communication. Because of the nature of this class, and the time constraints required for each project, it is important for students to have EXCELLENT attendance for success!
Grades are based on class projects, quizzes, unit tests, current events, class participation, and the final exam project.

**At the end of this course, students who qualify will receive 3 college credits through MVCC**
