Willard F. Prior

Welcome to Willard F. Prior Elementary!  Our school is proudly named after Mr. Willard Francis Prior who served the Oneida City School District as the Principal of the Oneida Junior High School for 27 years from 1925-1952.  He then became the Superintendent of Schools from 1952-1957.  We proudly carry on the tradition of excellence that Mr. Prior established so many years ago!

We serve students in Pre-k through grade 5, hosting all of the Pre-k programs for the OCSD as well as 2 UCP classrooms with a total of around 270 students and 60 staff members.

We look forward to seeing you at one or all of our many school events throughout the year.  Keep an eye on the calendar and join us!  Should you have any questions regarding our school, please contact us at (315) 363-2190.

Mission Statement:
Our mission is to educate, inspire and empower students.

Vision Statement:
Our vision is that our students reach their fullest potential.

Willard Prior Elementary is the home of the Willard Prior Piranhas! Located on East Ave in the city of Oneida, we are proud to serve all of the Oneida City School District's Pre-k programs - 2 classes in the morning and 2 classes in the afternoon. We also house 2 classrooms from a neighboring agency for students requiring specialized educational services. With our K-5 student population, our school educates just over 250 total students in all!

We have a strong commitment to supporting students in all areas - including social/emotional support. Mr. Shene, School Counselor and Ms. Thompson, School Social Worker, are here to help you navigate through social-emotional issues that may be affecting your child's ability to work to their fullest potential in school. Mr. Shene or Ms. Thompson can be reached by calling school at 315-363-2190 or via email: [email protected] or [email protected]

We have a very active PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) providing many in house and extra/field trip opportunities and programs throughout the school year. There are many opportunities for parents to be involved with their children - so c'mon over to WP!

We are looking forward to a great year!
