The Oneida City School District is proud to announce the use of Peachjar starting on December 7, 2016.

As part of our efforts to be more environmentally friendly, embrace innovative technology, and maintain fiscal responsibility, the Oneida City School District will be using a digital flyer delivery through Peachjar, a free online service for schools.

This “green” initiative will save our schools tons of paper and reduce copy costs by thousands of dollars. By using this new system, we expect to eliminate the need to print thousands of sheets of paper per year!

HOW IT WORKS

School-approved digital flyers will be sent directly to parents and guardians who see them as visually engaging images right on their smartphone or computer screen. Additionally, all flyers will be posted to each school’s website. Peachjar also manages flyer distribution and works directly with outside organizations.

REGISTERING TO RECEIVE FLYERS

As a convenience to parents and guardians, e-mails that the district has on file with Central Registration for Parent Portal will be used to set up the Peachjar account. If parents and guardians do not have an e-mail address on file for Parent Portal, please call our central registration office to speak with Lori Cimpi at 315-361-6072. To sign up for Peachjar without signing up for Parent Portal, parents and guardians can also visit www.peachjar.com and click on the ‘sign up’ button to register.

Parents and guardians will receive a welcome email from Peachjar that includes a username and password. This is provided to give the opportunity to manage account and flyer delivery preferences. Parents do not need to login to receive or view school eflyers. School memos can still be viewed on the district and school homepage by simply clicking on the Peachjar icon. The login is to manage e-mail delivery preferences.

If parents and guardians receive an e-mail from Peachjar and do not wish to receive school notifications via e-mail they can simply hit ‘unsubscribe’ at the bottom of the Peachjar account invitation.

For families that do not have Parent Portal or do not have an e-mail address, paper copies will continue to be sent home. It is anticipated that over time as parents and guardians sign up for Peachjar, less copies will need to be reproduced saving the district thousands of dollars.

To ensure smooth delivery of this communication, we suggest parents and guardians add [email protected] to their email contacts. When they receive their first eflyer, click “always display images.”

This system is used exclusively for distribution of school-approved flyers. Email address will not be shared or used for any other purpose.
