The Oneida City School District is proud to announce that Oneida Senior High School has again received recognition from the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) as a School of Excellence.
To be recognized as a School of Excellence, 75% of a school’s varsity teams must qualify for and receive the Scholar-Athlete team award. At Oneida Senior High School, 20 varsity teams received the Scholar-Athlete team award in the 2022-2023 school year.
During the 2022-2023 school year, the Oneida Senior High School Boys Cross Country, Boys Soccer, Field Hockey, Game Day Cheer, Girls Cross Country, Girls Soccer, Girls Tennis, Boys Indoor Track/Field, Boys Swimming/Diving, Boys Volleyball, Girls Basketball, Girls Indoor Track/Field, Girls Volleyball, Baseball, Boys Golf, Boys Outdoor Track/Field, Boys Tennis, Girls Golf, Girls Outdoor Track/Field and Softball all received the Scholar-Athlete team award.
Athletic Director Bert Conklin is proud of the achievements of our student-athletes and what this recognition means to the Oneida City School District.
“Receiving this award illustrates our education-based athletic philosophy, which provides for student success both in the classroom and on the field,” Conklin said. “It signifies the continued growth and development of our scholar-athletes.”
