SchoolMessenger Robo Test 11/6
Posted on 11/01/2019

To confirm that you are enrolled in our automated robo system, the Oneida City School district will be conducting a test by sending a text, call, and email to all current primary phone numbers and email addresses on Wednesday, November 6 at 5:00 PM.

Oneida uses SchoolMessenger to communicate on a mass scale for any school emergencies, school-related cancellations, or non-emergency community engagement events. The system works by delivering a pre-recorded telephone message, text message, or e-mail to contacts listed in our student information system that have been provided by parents or guardians.

As the winter season approaches, our goal is to have this system as accurate as possible with your contact information. We urge you to look out for this test and please not wait to update the system.

Here’s what you need to know:

  1. Transitioning to the ‘guardian’ model back in July has reset every household back to the system's default settings (call, text, and email). If you’ve had a customized calling structure in place previously, you will have to adjust those settings through the SchoolMessenger app, website, or student registration office.
  2.
  3. You will not receive SMS (text messages) until you opt-in. Text the word "YES" to 67587.
  4.
  5. Our primary notification channel is voice. Email should never be considered a primary source for notifications, especially emergencies, as many factors can affect the length of time between the message being sent and your mail inbox receiving that message.
  6.
  7. To update your information, use the SchoolMessenger mobile app, visit https://go.schoolmessenger.com or contact Lori Cimpi in Student Registration at 315-361-6072.
  8.
  9. If you are unsure of how the robo system is set up for you and you do not have access to the app or website, please wait until after the test on November 6th before calling student registration.
