Oneida Board Appoints Interim Superintendent

The Oneida Board of Education has appointed Dr. Kathy Davis as Interim Superintendent to lead the district while it searches for a permanent successor to Mary-Margaret Zehr. Davis will join the district in February.

Board President Robert Group said Davis is already familiar with the district, having served as Interim K-12 Executive Principal last year, which will allow for a smoother transition period.

“We are extremely pleased to have Dr. Davis return to Oneida. We value her extensive experience and knowledge in leading schools and districts, and we’re confident she will bring the same level of commitment and enthusiasm as she brought last year,” Group said. “We look forward to working with her and continuing to progress on our district goals through this transition period.”

Davis is a retired superintendent from the Holland Patent school district and has since served as interim superintendent in Waterville and Canastota.

The Board is working with MOBOCES District Superintendent Scott Budelmann to search for a new superintendent. Zehr will be leaving the district in February for a superintendent role in another district.
