UPDATED Chromebook Delivery

UPDATE: For any students that have filled out the Chromebook repair form, there will be a Chromebook delivery 'switch out' every Thursday starting at 1:00pm. 

Chromebooks for students in grades 3-6 have been delayed from 3 weeks, to 6 weeks to now 9 weeks from the date of purchase by the manufacturer. This is in direct relation to COVID-19 pandemic. Updates on delivery will be shared as we get them. 


To address the need to potentially put into a place an iLearning Plan, the Oneida City School District will provide Chromebooks to all students in grades 3-12.  This is important to ensure that our students can continue to learn if we are out of school longer than anticipated.

The first fleet of Chromebook distribution was on Thursday, April 2nd for students in grades 7, 8 and 9.  

The Oneida City School district distributed Chromebooks by bus on Thursday, April 2nd for students in grades 7, 8 and 9. The door-to-door bus delivery of Chromebooks for students in grades 7, 8 and 9 followed the PDF routes listed below. In order to maintain social distancing, Chromebooks were placed on the bus stairs and someone from the household had to come to the bus to pick up the Chromebook and charger. The Chromebooks have been assigned by student and are expected to come back to school when school reopens as the district expands its 1:1 iLearning initiative in the classroom. 

Out of 441 Chromebooks for students in grades 7,8 and 9, the district successfully delivered 408. The district will be delivering Chromebooks to those homes that were not available during the first run on Thursday, April 9th starting at 10:30am. This will be a door-to-door delivery. Please do not go to the bus stops.

The district is awaiting another order of Chromebooks for grades 3-6. More information about Chromebook delivery for students in grades 3-6 will be sent to families at a later date via a robo call, email and text. The district continues to meet and plan on how we can best service all students PK-12.

The district is testing a variety of solutions to extend the WiFi from our buildings to our students. A robo call/text/email will be going out to families once a solution has been tested for security and executed successfully.  

Parents and guardians are encouraged to reach out to their individual building if WiFi access is a concern.
