March Thought Exchange on Graduation Rate
Posted on 03/09/2020
Dear Parents/Guardians, Students, and Staff,

In January, we introduced Thought Exchange to our community with an exchange about our hopes for the Oneida City School District in the next decade.  The participation was excellent with 193 thoughts, 223 participants and 5748 star ratings!   We found the theme with the most comments was Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and the theme with the most stars was Graduation Rate.

This month we would like to ask our community their thoughts about graduation.  As a district, we continue to work on our graduation rate to ensure that all of our students reach their fullest potential.

When our students graduate, approximately 74% of our students pursue post-secondary education, 7% pursue a career in the military, and 19% pursue employment opportunities.

We want to hear from you! What do you think are the most important skills students need to be career and college ready? Your thoughts will be shared throughout the district, in committees and in social media. All of our voices matter, so your participation is crucial and valued.

You'll be asked to respond to one open-ended question, consider and assign stars to some of the ideas shared by others (20 to 30 is ideal), and learn what's important to the group.
Your thoughts and stars are confidential. You can come back as often as you'd like to participate and, in fact, we ask that you do come back to star some of the new ideas shared since you first participated.

Participation will be open until APRIL 1.

Thank you in advance for your help and input.

Sincerely,
Mary-Margaret Zehr- Superintendent
