2010-2011 Budget Information

Corrected Budget Notice

Districts in NY State must vote on May 18, 2010 for their local school budgets and Board of Education elections.  If successful, the spending plan will be in place for the 2010-2011 school year.

If not successful, the Board of Education can:
 - submit a revised budget before the taxpayers for vote
 - submit the same budget before the taxpayers for vote again
 - adopt a contingency budget

The contingency amount presented in the district newsletter was in error.  The accurate figure is reflected in the Corrected Budget Notice and is equal to the amount of the proposed budget for 2010-11.  Due to the cuts that have been made the proposed budget is under the contingency cap required by the state.  Additionally, when a contingent budget is adopted, the school district may be required to charge certain fees to non-school district groups that use the district facilities including, performing arts, community athletics, scouts, etc.
