Music
is everywhere. It plays varied roles in today’s society regardless of culture,
race, religion or individualism. Music is the reflection of our past and window
to our future. It is a discipline: creative, scientific, expressive and
communicative; proven to stimulate all domains of learning and levels of
intelligence. Music is a vehicle for lifelong learning and enjoyment whether
it’s marching in a band, singing in a choir, attending a concert or just
listening to the radio. In his book Understanding Music (2008) J. Yudkin
states; “Music, like language, is an accomplishment that distinguishes us as
humans.”
